Math Curriculum

The BRLHS's math curriculum is designed to accommodate our students' diverse needs and goals.

It offers:

  • A standard track meeting A-G requirements, covering algebra, intermediate algebra, and geometry, suitable for UC system admissions.

  • An advanced college preparatory track that goes beyond the UC and CSU minimum requirements, aimed at students seeking a more rigorous math foundation.

This structure ensures every student can access a math education that aligns with their academic and professional aspirations.

English Curriculum

Our English program is rigorously designed to enhance critical reading, analytical thinking, and expressive writing. It includes a comprehensive study of literature, emphasizing the development of technical writing skills and the capacity for critical analysis.

The curriculum fosters an appreciation for diverse literary genres, equipping students with the skills to navigate and interpret complex texts and to articulate their thoughts with clarity and precision across various forms of communication.

Our High School Science Program offers a dynamic and immersive learning experience in key scientific disciplines:

  • Biology: Delve into the study of life, from cellular structures to ecosystems, with extensive lab work to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
  • Chemistry: Explore the fundamental concepts of matter and its interactions, fostering a deep understanding of chemical processes through practical experiments.
  • Physics: Investigate the principles governing force, motion, and energy, with hands-on experiments that illustrate core physics concepts.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: Learn about the human body's complex systems, structure, and functions, complemented by detailed anatomical studies.

Each course emphasizes practical laboratory experience, ensuring students not only learn but also apply scientific principles, preparing them for advanced studies and STEM careers.

History Curriculum

The history curriculum is structured to provide students with a rich understanding of both global and American contexts through a carefully organized program:

  • Core History Courses: Engage students with Modern World History, US History, American Government, Economics, and Contemporary American Issues. These courses are designed to meet the UC A-G criteria, ensuring students receive an education that prepares them for university admission requirements.

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Options: For students seeking more challenging material, virtual AP courses in World History, US History, Macroeconomics, European History, and Human Geography are offered. These courses allow deeper exploration and analysis, preparing students for college-level coursework.

This structured approach ensures a comprehensive learning experience, covering critical historical periods and concepts while offering advanced study opportunities.
