Known for her engaging workshops and talks, her visit to our school was a testament to her illustrious career and the embodiment of her commitment to enriching education with real-world insights and Jewish values.

Liza Wiemer's Literary Contributions:

Liza Wiemer's literary journey is marked by profound works that resonate deeply with young minds and adults. Her book, "Out and About: A Tale of Giving," is an inspiring picture book that follows the young boy, Daniel, as he learns the true meaning of giving. This story aligns seamlessly with the Jewish tradition of Tzedakah, teaching children the importance of generosity and empathy. Another notable work, "The Assignment," is a riveting novel that delves into themes of discrimination and antisemitism. Recognized by various literary platforms, it has been optioned for a film, underscoring its impactful narrative.

The Visit to Hebrew Academy:

Wiemer interacted with different student groups during her visit, tailoring her presentations to their ages and educational needs. For our middle and upper school students, she discussed "The Assignment," facilitating a profound dialogue on historical accuracy, ethical decision-making, and the consequences of discrimination. This session encouraged critical thinking and mirrored our school's dedication to teaching history through a lens of moral introspection and social responsibility. For our younger students in grades 3-5, Wiemer read from "Out and About," perfectly preluding our upcoming mitzvah projects. Her story beautifully illustrated the joy of giving and community involvement. These concepts are fundamental to our school's values and the Jewish way of life.

Wiemer's visit and engaging literary works complemented the vision of the Hebrew Academy. Our approach to education goes beyond academic excellence; we strive to instill in our students a deep understanding of Jewish traditions, ethics, and the importance of contributing positively to society. Wiemer's presentations reinforced these values, offering our students real-life examples of how knowledge, empathy, and courage can make a difference in the world.
