As we prepare to celebrate Sukkot, Hebrew Academy participated in the Great Shakeout earthquake drill—an annual exercise that ensures the safety of our students and staff. This year, we conducted the drill during a less structured part of the day, testing our readiness in a dynamic environment. From the youngest to the oldest, our students quickly ducked, covered, and safely gathered on the field. Watching them confidently put their training into action was a proud moment for our entire community.
At Hebrew Academy, the safety and security of our students form the foundation of our thriving academic environment. Just as the Sukkah symbolizes Hashem’s protection of the Jewish people during their journey through the desert, our school provides a sanctuary where students are nurtured emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. In this secure and supportive space, they develop the confidence to face academic challenges, guided by strong values and Jewish traditions. While we place our trust in divine protection, we also take meaningful action through preparation, practice, and physical security—empowering our students to navigate the world with resilience and purpose, armed with the tools they acquire here.
We thank Roei, our security leader, for organizing this vital drill and his continued dedication to keeping our school community prepared and secure. The drill is more than just a safety measure—it reflects our commitment to creating a learning environment where students can pursue academic excellence with peace of mind.
As we approach Sukkot, we carry the strength and protection fostered within Hebrew Academy’s walls. This strength—rooted in emotional security and academic rigor—ensures our students are prepared both in and out of the classroom.
Chag Sameach from all of us at Hebrew Academy!
