Exploring Give 'Em Five.jpg

As a parent, you want the best for your child. You want them to receive a quality education, be in a safe and nurturing environment, and surround themselves with positive role models. At the Hebrew Academy, we understand this, and that is why we are excited about our new initiative, Larry Thompson's Give ‘Em Five Responsibility-Centered Discipline.

This innovative approach to discipline, designed to empower students to take ownership of their actions, encourages them to make good choices and to be responsible for their behavior. The Give ‘Em Five process includes setting clear expectations, teaching the expected behavior, modeling the behavior, providing positive feedback, and constructively correcting misbehavior.

The Hebrew Academy, committed to providing our students with the best education possible, has taken extra measures to ensure the success of our new initiative, Larry Thompson's Give 'Em Five Responsibility-Centered Discipline. Before the start of the school year, our teachers went through extensive training on the program. As a result, we are already seeing its positive impact on our students, from improved behavior to stronger relationships with their teachers.

To take it to the next level, we sent them to L.A. to hear from Larry Thompson himself. This opportunity allowed our teachers to learn directly from an expert in the field and gain a deeper understanding of the program. We hope this will enable them to continue effectively implementing Give 'Em Five in their classrooms and positively impact our student's behavior and academic success.

We are proud of the culture we have created at the Hebrew Academy. Positive role models surround our students and encourage them to be their best selves. Implementing Give 'Em Five is just one way to help our students learn to take responsibility for their actions and develop good habits and positive character traits.

We understand parenting is a team effort, so we invite you to partner with us in this new initiative, Larry Thompson's Give 'Em Five Responsibility-Centered Discipline. By working together, we can ensure that your child receives the best education possible and develops into a responsible and successful individual.

Here are a few ways you can partner with us:

  • Regularly communicate with your child's teacher about any concerns or observations you may have about your child's behavior.

  • Reinforce the principles of Give 'Em Five at home by setting clear expectations, teaching the expected behavior, modeling the behavior, providing positive feedback, and constructively correcting misbehavior.

  • Encourage your child to take responsibility for their actions and to make good choices.

Together, we can positively impact your child's behavior and academic success. We are confident that Give 'Em Five Responsibility-Centered Discipline will be a valuable tool in helping your child reach their full potential. Let's work together to ensure your child receives the best education possible and grows to become responsible and successful.
