Carol Brownstein is an accomplished pianist and experienced piano teacher. She began teaching piano when she was in high school. She gave her first solo piano recital when she was a senior in high school. That same year she was one of two winners of the All City Music Competition in Chicago. the prize was performing for the Chicago school scholarship luncheon attended by Mayor Daley. she studied music at the University of Illinois and Cal State University. At the University of Illinois, she was awarded a Striven music scholarship. Although she chose to become a secondary teacher for many years, Ms. Brownstein always had piano students both in the Us and abroad. She was extremely fortunate to have studied for many years with Leonid Hambro. For the past several years, she has been a student of Dr. Stewart Gorden, well-known pedagogue, teacher, artist and author. In recent years. Ms. Brownstein has attended numerous piano pedagogy classes, seminars, and webinars to help her become the best piano teacher she can be. She has been a member of the Music Teachers Association of California for many years and has prepared students for state and national testing programs. She accepts students of 5 years and above and also works with adults.
